We all love to party, and that’s true whether you drink alcohol or not – remember, it’s not a prerequisite of having a good time. In terms of beverage, there’s something for everyone out there, whether you like sweet, sour or tangy flavours. Unfortunately, a lot of mass-made cocktails are filled with a LOT of sugar, which can give you a hangover which is worse than drinking any alcohol at all!

Did you know, you can make a cocktail out of just about anything, whether you’re in party mode or not? Not only that, you can pack in some healthy nutrients to your drink to get an immune boost while you’re drinking it. All you need is your imagination and a few ingredients.

We’ve pulled together 10 of the healthiest cocktails around – we can’t wait to try them all out, but how are we going to choose!?

 

#1 Spicy Grapefruit Juice

What a taste sensation! Try this grapefruit with a hint of spice by using freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and jalapeños. Jalapeños are rich in vitamins A and C and potassium. They also have carotene — an antioxidant that may help fight damage to your cells, while grapefruit is high in antioxidants. Add a splash of tequila and a wedge of lime to round off the evening!

Add extra water if needed to reach desired consistency. #3 Red Wine Age-Reversal

Did you know that red wine has anti-aging properties? Studies show that resveratrol (found in wine) promotes health and longevity by increasing the activity of a protein called sirtuins. Sirtuins are responsible for protecting the body against diseases of aging. Mix some red wine with some frozen berries in a blender and cheers to smooth skin!

You could prob do with gin or tequila too🙂⁣ ⁣ Reminder for the weekend: HAVE FUN. Whatever that means to you but let go of any crazy rules or restrictions you set for yourself. My weekends are always a mix of pizza, a sweaty workout, wine, salad, chill. I like to do it all! Happy Friday guys 💋⁣ ⁣ Here’s how ya do it:⁣ 2 tbsp lime juice (add more to taste)⁣ 1/2 tsp honey (warm before if needed to mix easier)⁣ 3 kiwi slices (plus extra for garnish) ⁣ 2 basil leaves (plus extra for garnish)⁣ 1 shot of vodka or gin ⁣ Soda water ⁣ ⁣ Muddle kiwi slices and basil leaves in a shaker. Add lime juice, honey, vodka and shake well. Pour into glass with lots of ice. Add soda water to top off plus extra kiwi + basil + lime wedges to garnish! Option to add more honey or lime to taste.

Who doesn’t love basil? The amazing tasting herb can support liver function and improve your skin. Combine with fresh lime juice, kiwi slices, honey and soda water for a tangy boost to your day. The immune-boosting kiwi is just so juicy and deliciously sour. Add your choice of gin or vodka to taste.

 

#5 Infuse Your Drink With Fruit

Choose whichever cocktail you’d like, then add ice-cubes you’ve infused with fresh fruits for a healthy touch – feel free to eat the fruit afterwards! How about a splash of vodka, a little cranberry juice (which is full of antioxidants), topped up with soda water? Add some strawberry-infused ice-cubes like these!

 

#6 Dragon Fruit Unicorn Juice

Impress your friends with this amazing looking cocktail. Add red beans to a glass – these area low-fat, cholesterol-free source of high-quality plant protein. Top it up with milk, or a milk substitute, and finish off with dragon fruit juice for that pretty colour. If you like, add some spiced rum to get the party started.

 

#7 Pineapple Fizz

Pineapple has enzymes inside which help aid digestion – and can even aid recovery after some strenuous exercise. Try some fresh pineapple juice with some silver tequila (slightly ‘cleaner’ than gold) and top up with soda to dilute it and add fizz if you wish.

You don’t need us to tell you that matcha is full of healthy benefits! Matcha is rich in catechins, a class of plant compounds in tea that act as natural antioxidants. Make this amazing mint julep by combining fresh mint leaves (to help ease indigestion), honey, tonic water and matcha powder. Top over ice with some bourbon for a healthy mint julep.

 

#10 Keep It Simple

You must know that freshly squeezed orange juice is one of the healthiest things to drink. Packed with vitamin C, fresh orange juice can reduce inflammation and help heart health. Drink on its own or add a splash of triple sec and vodka for a healthy cocktail!
