3 Major Changes Compared Between Their 9-5 Job and Being Their Own Boss

Today everyone wants to become an entrepreneur. However, we all know it is extremely challenging to launch your own business, in fact, this is a journey of fear and self-doubt. And yes, despite the difficulty levels, most of the game changers never regret their bold move. Here are some motivations that you might find inspiring in order to build a meaningful life for yourself:-

Vivienne Tang, Founder, Destination Deluxe

“Being your own boss and having the freedom that comes with it, will most probably have a positive and very big impact on your health too – physically as well as mentally. Having the autonomy to make your own choices helps you to be in charge of your life again, and this gives you the understanding that you can create your own reality and that it isn’t all up to destiny. It really is about taking your power back and having full control over your decisions and being able to realize your dreams.”

“I really enjoy the freedom that comes with it and that I can work from anywhere in the world.”

“Remember, if you don’t build your dreams, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs. Also, working for five hours at a desk without taking a break is now proven to be as harmful as chain-smoking, even if you are working out at the end of the day. Research shows that sitting really is the new smoking. So, I’m really glad that by working for myself I can have more movement during my day, and that I don’t have to be chained to a desk for 13 hours a day. I really enjoy the freedom that comes with it and that I can work from anywhere in the world, be that at home, in a co-working space or on a beach…as long as there is Wi-Fi.”

Mira Christano, Founder, Enhale Meditation Studio

Mira Christano, Founder, Enhale Meditation Studio“The energy here at Enhale feels quite different from where I used to work.  There’s nothing better than to be around meditation coaches all day long who constantly check in on you, make sure you’re being mindful of your day, your feelings and what you’re doing. These coaches take it a personal responsibility to ensure that you as an individual are exposed to an environment that is uplifting and encouraging, which is really nice. I truly can’t ask for a better work environment to work at. For example, if I worked at a machinery company, it wouldn’t be so life-giving. In contrast, I started Enhale and there’s so much that I’m basically like benefitting, just from being around the coaches.”

“…I feel much more fulfilled and I have different mindset altogether now.”

“I think now and before, the most important thing to me is that what I’m doing is very fulfilling as well. Our life is all about meaningful relationship, meaningful work. And now, I feel like I have both of them. Compared to the days I ran the largest real estate portfolio in the Asia Pacific, now I feel much more fulfilled and I have different mindset altogether.”

Nikita Ramchandani, Founder, Kita Yoga

 Nikita Ramchandani, Founder, Kita Yoga

“When I was working in finance at Morgan Stanley in New York, I still managed to wake up early at 5:00 am and schedule in a workout in my daily routine before work. But when I first started Kita Yoga, I started to become so busy that I almost forgot about the importance of self-care. This may be because I worked very hard to create the best space for others, and me – as a person, started to come last. But now, as the business has grown and we’ve built a brand for ourselves, I have more time now to go back to all the things I love like working out.”

“…be more mindful of what you’re putting into your body.”

“I think the biggest difference now is the ability to take more time for yourself to do the simple things. You can sit back and eat a meal and actually chew, and taste and be more mindful of what you’re putting into your body.”
