1. Spend quality time with my family.

 My days revolve around taking care of, shaping and educating tiny brains and creating memories with my two little boys. When my husband and I can disconnect and be together with our two boys to go to the park or enjoy a picnic is when I’m the happiest.

2. Spend quality time with myself.

I’m a mom who works full time, does all the housework and still has to find time for my husband. I’m trying to make it a mission to carve some time out each day to be alone and not lose sight of who I am as an individual, because we can lose ourselves so easily in this “mom” role.

3. Be the best version of myself I know how to be, mentally and physically.

I try to exercise daily, fuel my body with healthy foods and take care of my mental health.

We’re almost half way through the year and I still work on these resolutions every day. Each day brings new adventures and obstacles, but I think it’s fair to say that I’m doing a pretty good job thus far!


I tend to get frustrated a lot these days trying to manage a two year old a three year old!! If there’s one thing the TerribleTwos stage and a Threenager have taught me is that I need to be more patient and go with the flow (which is a VERY hard task for a Type A person).

When I feel a bout of frustration come on, I stop whatever I’m doing, I sit down, close my eyes and I take five deep, slow breathes. Taking these very few moments to myself, even if there is one child pulling on my arm and another screaming in my ear, reminds me that this too shall pass.


I try to eat as whole, raw and clean as possible. I steer clear of anything that is manufactured or processed. I read every single ingredient list and my rule of thumb is: if I don’t know how to pronounce an ingredient or I don’t know what it is, I’m not eating it. I’ve also eliminated dairy from my diet and tend to eat very little grains, I’ve found this is what keeps my body functioning at optimal levels.

I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, chicken, fish and red meat. I love nuts and almond butter. Eggs and avocados are a morning staple for me and  I always satisfy my nightly sweet tooth with non-dairy ice creams, dates or dark chocolate.

Every mom needs that reminder every once in a while.


I’ve been more conscious lately of incorporating a meaningful morning self-care routine because as a busy mom I’m always last in line for well-being. Now that the boys are 2 and 3, I’m finally able to start carving out just a few minutes each morning to get myself centered and focused to tackle the rest of the day. The things I’m currently loving and using are:

  1. Reading a daily meditation from Journey To The Heart by Melody Beattie (to keep me living in the present)
  2. Taking a steam shower while diffusing peppermint aromatherapy by Aura Cacia (to awaken my senses)
  3. Using CocoKind’s organic chia facial oil (to keep my skin hydrated)
  4. De-puffing my face with the Esarora Ice Roller (to help fight inflammation)
  5. Using Hello Products to brush my teeth (because I’ve been switching over to cleaner products when and where I can)


My favorite way to increase my energy level is to go outside for a walk. The fresh air, the sunshine, the sounds of nature and the increased heart rate get me ready to tackle my next obstacle. It’s also such a convenient way to get extra exercise in with the boys while they’re strapped in the stroller and are forced to sit still :)

My second favorite way to boost my energy in my self-care routine is to add spirulina to my green smoothies. The green algae is packed with protein and is one of the most nutrient dense foods on earth! It’s very easy to find – I buy my spirulina powder from Whole Foods, I use their store brand, it mixes easily and has 3000mg spirulina per serving.


I believe that when you feel good, you look good. So, my keys to sexual confidence come from working out (to be proud of my body and feel comfortable in my skin) and wearing something I look good in. I’ve recently come across the Negative Underwear line for comfortable intimates/ loungewear.


I’m someone who could read about or listen to wellness topics all day every day.  If I’m not stalking a wellness blogger online, I’m reading a self-help book or listening to someone tell their journey on a podcast. The wellness world is always coming up with new topics to discuss and learn about, which makes the space always evolving and fun.
