How should we cope with Coronavirus stress?

One of the hats I wear is that of a Holistic Health and Life Coach, as well as a Yoga and Mindfulness teacher. Thankfully, my day-to-day routine as a coach and my own self-care has not been affected by the virus. If anything, it has encouraged me to be more stringent and steadfast for my overall wellness, as there is no escaping the fear and stress that is spreading faster than the Covid-19 itself. Now it has already been transformed to a global pandemic, the scary thing about Covid-19 is the unknown. I believe that ALL IS CONNECTED, so giving ‘it’ more time and energy resulting in fear-mongering and panic is something we need to try and manage more. Fear and stress in particular affect our immunity system. When we are stressed, our bodies release adrenalin into the bloodstream but lose efficacy to fight off antigens like viral infections. So, when times are tough like right now, I often check my tattoo as a reminder, but also my mantra. I specifically placed a tattoo that represents three words – Serenity, Courage and Wisdom, on my left wrist. This is based on the Prayer for Serenity:
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
